The atmosphere is friendly, the staff are always helpful and the food is always good.
Many innovative items on the menu and some interesting craft beverages. We went
On a Thursday game night and had fun with the challenging trivia. Generally we go for the music, but whatever day you go you are
Going to enjoy yourself -

I came here for the Latin Jazz orchestra band and definitely enjoyed myself. The band was amazing and very lively! The food and drinks were surprisingly good too! We ordered the smoked chicken that comes with collards and red skin mashed potatoes, the salmon with green beans and Brussels sprouts, the hanger steak over veggies, the lemon and garlic shrimp pasta, and the brownie and ice cream! The dishes were all tasty but the garlic shrimp pasta was sent back because it was bland and dry. The brownie and ice cream is reallllyyyy good!
I definitely can't wait to come back in October for the next Latin Jazz orchestra night. -

Awesome brunch, but the ambience and music was the best. Was able to reserve a big table last minute for a Sunday brunch no problem.
Really grateful, will be back to listen to more great music soon! -

I've heard quite a few good things about Venkman's. My friends and I were really excited to go for our Sunday Brunch. We walked in and loved the patio seating and the atmosphere of the interior. They even had a live band that performed which was pretty cool. Other than the visual aspect, the rest of the experience was a let down. The service was extremely slow, the water was lukewarm, they didn't serve freshly squeezed OJ (most brunch spots do!), and they had very limited vegetarian friendly options.
My friends and I have a few dietary restrictions and usually find restaurants to be accommodating, but not this one. When ordering, our waitress told us that the substitutions for our dishes were possible, but this wasn't the case as we found out later.
Our tables' order was messed up FOUR times. One of my friends asked to sub out the bourbon salmon with smoked salmon (which we were told is possible). My friend does not drink and did not want bourbon cured salmon. Instead they brought out a dish with grilled CHICKEN. Once we complained, the waiters took it back and immediately came back with a BOURBON salmon dish. The timing was suspicious, and it seemed like they went back to remove the chicken and slap bourbon salmon in its place - which was kind of disturbing. After ordering her food, and being sent the wrong dish two times, she was finally told that the salmon dish could not be altered. Instead she went for the veggie skillet (they also messed up this order) which was "absolute trash" in her words.
As for myself, I ordered the Chicken and Grits. Maybe we went on a bad day, but this dish did not live up to the hype of the other reviews. The chicken tasted old and had a strange smell to it, and the grits were way too mushy for me. I usually can't finish my meals and take the leftovers to-go, but I didn't even bother with this one. Would we go again? Absolutely not.
TL;DR Don't bother wasting your money. -

Cool place! We went last night to hear our friend John Moye play a Tom Petty Cover set and had a cozy table near the front. The acoustics were great for being up close and having chill conversation.
The food was good - the pretzels (get the Asiago) were warm and delicious, though serving could have been bigger. The fries were a delicious and just crispy enough pile of goodness. My Caesar with chicken was underwhelming- the amount of chicken for $6 was maybe 3 oz and it was otherwise almost all lettuce v cheese.
Seems like a fun place if you're into cover bands in a laid back vibe.
